Poet's Heart

We live in a world torn between
wanting to listen to the sound
of a flower growing
and wanting to ignore the sound
of the sky falling.

By sometimes being sensitive enough
to the first process
we acquire the energy necessary
to prevent the second.

Oak Tree

To be beneath this tall Oak tree
and simply feel all strength in me
is my calling coming true
so this heart is feeling brighter
as here on a grassy green
I lay down my weary tunes
in places where the frost has been.

And fading traces of windy storms
are erased from peripheral fields
as autumnal life
now seems to fruit like new acorn nuts
borne in protective cups.

Oh the glory of being in the wide open spaces
of Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, in Crafers, South Australia

Come With Me To See

I wish you all may be
here with me to see this sky so blue
with the green trees just waiting
to colour their leaves,
and all around, is welcoming visitors to explore,
to expand,
to just wander over the grassy land.

This is the place to be,
where on this summer day,
I feel the ease of the Mount Lofty breeze
uplifting me.

I drove up here through the long heatwave.
Sometimes we need to lose ourselves
and find a place like nowhere else
to hide away,
to while away,
to simply nourish and renew ourselves.

I took this photo in the extreme mid-day heat of February,
in the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, Crafers, South Australia

Dear Friends,
I appreciate you being here with me.
It was a long hot and dry summer.
But thankfully, I returned from serious immune anaphylaxis
and am so happy to be here in my simple life.
I did re-post some of my poems, in those resting months.
I now have strength with an Oak Tree and photos to share soon.
Love and blessings,
Bee xo

Viola And The Violets

Pure grace
sits with each shy flower,
she sings a song to light the sky,
the violet crown opens wide
and all the love for deep inside
is with you.

The quiet times,
low to the ground
are where the petals softly seek
to find some Ones and lift their hearts
higher than they feel within,
but true to all who see
their beauty in the green,
whose weeping tears are not unseen
but are rising now to form light mist
for all those missing being kissed.

I live with the violets.
Always did and ever will.
They call to me,
they help me grieve
what I know and do perceive,
for violet paths are lined with hearts.

When Candles Shine

I thank these mauve crocus
for being 'the shining ones'.
My quiet companions who rise
while the soil is warm and the sky is light.

They are silent.
They are bright.
They are a community of flower souls
to shine their saffron lights.
They illuminate all gentle ones
who wait
until the call is heard
to go deeper.

We are here,
to share and care for others.

Possibilities are seen when a tiny white bud
comes through the dry soil.
I am deeply heartened every year
and delightfully I cheer to welcome the crocus
as they present a new community
inspiring me to see
that even after a fiery summer,
the brave will show the way
and sing the call of beauty
with grace and hope today.

This is a re-post from Match 18, 2020.
So far, there are 14 crocus stems this year.
